Media and Entertainment Workflow

Media and Entertainment Workflow

Dell
Published by: Research Desk Released: Aug 29, 2022

The Dell EMC Open Networking IP Fabric solution for media and entertainment provides content providers and broadcasters with a flexible and scalable Open Networking infrastructure. They can readily meet the evolving demands for more content and rich media experiences, including more camera feeds, higher resolutions with 4K and 8K video, and virtual reality capabilities.
Dell EMC Open Networking IP fabrics for Media and Entertainment are based on Dell EMC Open Networking low latency and deep buffer Switches and are optimized for media workflows. IP Fabric design using Fabric Design Center (FDC) and automated fabric deployment using SmartFabric Services (SFS) enable easy deployment of IP infrastructure to on-board media services quickly.
The following baseline design criteria are to be considered when building IP Fabrics for media workflow:

IP fabric infrastructure should be designed to dynamically assign bandwidth to media flows and a robust mechanism to handle bursts and congestion without dropping packets
High-performance non-oversubscribed fabrics with support for line-rate throughput Highly scalable IP fabrics designed to support large media flows transmit in real time Hardware timestamp PTPv2 for higher accuracy of time and phase synchronization Ability to handle large-scale multicast flows
High availability and resilient IP architecture
The media workflow can broadly be categorized into three blocks: Content creation
Content management Content delivery
