Why U.S. Companies Need to Care About the New European Privacy Rules

The European Union’s updated privacy law, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), goes into effect at the end of May. Experts say that U.S. multinationals with EU operations are generally aware of GDPR‘s new requirements, and are moving toward implementing them. A PwC study found that even a year ago, 92 percent of large companies placed GDPR compliance at the top of their data privacy and security agenda.
