In a business world that is increasingly shifting into the electronic realm, the e-signature is critical. And the adoption of this form of verification has only been accelerated by the coronavirus pandemic.
Adobe has commissioned Forrester Consulting to examine the value that e-signatures bring to an organization and the impact that the pandemic has had on adoption of the technology. Drawing on the knowledge and experience of 450 senior IT and business decision-makers from around the world, the study reveals that more organizations are recognizing the importance of e-signatures and are stepping up implementation into their operations.
Today, fully 60 percent of businesses across every industry sector say that e-signatures are a “critical requirement in supporting business continuity and agility.”
With the pandemic forcing companies to devise new ways of operating effectively and safely, technologies such as e-signatures are becoming standard practice, with digital verification supplanting the traditional “wet” signature. And even after the health crisis has passed, the research shows, companies will not return to the old ways of doing business.
The study indicates that organizations are also becoming more familiar with the regulations surrounding e-signatures, with companies that previously avoided technological innovation finding the shift to the “new normal” relatively straightforward.
E-signatures have moved from being best practice to a business necessity.
