Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO, NVIDIA, commented: “Transportation is becoming a technology industry. Besides having amazing autonomous driving and AI technologies, vehicles will be programmable platforms to offer software-driven services. The business models of transportation will be reinvented.”

He further added, “Our design wins demonstrate how NVIDIA is partnering with one of the world’s largest and most impactful industries to help revolutionize the future of mobility.”

Extension of collaboration between Volvo Cars and NVIDIA

Volvo Cars announced that it would develop new generation models on NVIDIA DRIVE Orin, extending its deep partnership over the last few years. Volvo’s first car with DRIVE Orin technology, Volvo XC90, will be launched next year.

Robotaxis turn to NVIDIA DRIVE

Robotaxi companies have accepted the NVIDIA DRIVE platform. Zoox revealed its aim behind the development of robotaxi for daily urban mobility. The vehicle is driven by NVIDIA DRIVE and is known to be the first robotaxi showcasing bi-directional capabilities, putting the next generation of enhanced transportation into motion.

DiDi, a frontrunner mobility-as-a-service provider from China, has revealed NVIDIA DRIVE’s adoption for its complete autonomous driving test fleet. These robotaxi companies join Pony.ai and Auto X, which are already using the NVIDIA DRIVE platform.

New energy vehicles’ revolution

Automotive startups and electric vehicle (EV) brands have planned to develop software-defined vehicles using NVIDIA DRIVE Orin to offer enhanced AI capabilities, beginning as early as next year. They comprise SAIC, Faraday Future, VinFast, Nio, Li Auto, and Xpeng.

The trucking industry is also adopting the NVIDIA DRIVE platform to deliver safe, fully autonomous trucks that could operate in geo-fenced areas, highways, and public roads.
