On May 22, 2020, CrowdStrike made an interesting announcement related to its CrowdStrike platform. The company stated that the platform is boosting its Linux protection abilities with the help of some extra features that include machine learning prevention and custom and dynamic Indicators of Attack (IoAs).
CrowdStrike further added by explaining that its solution is based on its cloud-delivered platform and offers promising breach prevention through a single lightweight agent that works with supporting endpoints and cloud workloads on several platforms, including Linux, Mac, Windows, and mobile devices.
It also mentioned that an accelerated increase in workloads simultaneously increases the risk of security breaches.
Due to an increase in security risks, Linux hosts need a comprehensive solution to deliver deep runtime security irrespective of whether the workloads are running on private, public, or on-premises data centers, along with securing containers workloads running on Linux hosts.
CrowdStrike also stated that its Falcon solution is engineered to deal with diverse workloads with the help of a single agent that is capable of detecting and preventing malicious processes by deploying dynamic IoAs.
Moreover, Falcon permits customers to stay in sync with behavioral detection and prevention with the use of IoAs.
Why Falcon
As workforces and workloads are increasing rapidly, they are becoming complex too. Falcon is engineered to protect Linux systems with a robust and transforming technology.
Furthermore, to stop breaches on the Linux platform, Falcon combines a plethora of technologies such as Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), threat intelligence integration, and antivirus.
Expert’s take
CrowdStrike Chief Product Officer Amol Kulkarni says, “At CrowdStrike, we remain laser-focused on solving the most challenging customer pain points.”
Premier Cooperative network administrator Jonathan Pate says Falcon has allowed the company to omit the use of multiple products to secure their workloads.
