Kerlink, an Internet of Things (IoT) solutions specialist, and its Japanese distributor GISupply recently announced a package of applications for different verticals to serve global markets: smart agriculture, construction-worker health and safety, and smart aquaculture.

The package includes Kerlink Wirnet iStations in LoRa-based networks with sensors from GISupply and other companies. The sensors enable multiple applications and are connected to GISupply’s cloud applications for analysis and access by end-users.

The package of application includes three sectors as follows:

  • ezFinder BUSINESS Heat Stroke , a construction industry solution helps to keep track of workers who are struck by heatstroke, a major threat to the crew that works under the scorching sun heat. This type of industry solution includes a local wet bulb globe temperature (WBGT) device along with a wearable tracker designed for the individual worker. Using WBGT, the effect of temperature, humidity, visibility, and infrared radiation on humans is estimated. The ezFinder BUSINESS Heat Stroke gathers and records data from both WBGT devices and wearables to calculate the risk of heatstroke for each worker.
  • Ushimiru, the smart-agriculture solution, is designed to support sustainable agriculture through a network that allows producers to keep a watch on their cattle grazing in open spaces. LoRa cow-monitoring collar by GISupply helps to locate the animals and indicates whether they have stopped moving, which signals that animals might be at risk. The newly designed agriculture solution makes use of an application named ‘geo-fence’ that alerts owners if the animal is in any danger.
  • Japan is one of the largest fish economies in the world. Kerlink and GISupply’s smart aquaculture solution is targeting both the consumer and the global fish farming industry with a LoRa-based sustainable aquaculture business model.
