Cybersecurity posture startup Balbix Inc. announced the public availability of its support for the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Balbix claims that the quick shift to the cloud has made managing and safeguarding information technology settings more challenging. Consequently, security teams need help to obtain a unified perspective of risk. With GCP support, security teams can utilize Balbix to measure, prioritize, and mitigate threats in their Google Cloud settings.

Customers of Balbix with Google Cloud environments can merge data from Google Cloud with their other IT and security tools to enhance security and business context for their assets. Automation and advanced analytics can be used to obtain a comprehensive, near-real-time visibility of their Google Cloud assets.
A discovery function enables users to identify misconfigurations, including the most exploited attack vector for cloud environments, weak passwords, unpatched software vulnerabilities, and trust concerns. To prioritize rectification, users may also assess risk based on the likelihood of breach and business effect. As opposed to risk ratings, the risk may also be measured in dollars and other currencies.
The inclusion of GCP support expands Balbix’s cyber asset attack surface management solution to multi-cloud settings, eliminating the need for security practitioners to use multiple tools or manually aggregate data from these solutions to comprehend their security posture.
In addition to providing general support for GCP, Balbix has also made an API-based Balbix Connector available for the Google Cloud Platform. The service collects inventory and misconfiguration data and provides visibility into additional vulnerabilities detected by Balbix sensors.
Experts’ Take
Gaurav Banga, founder and chief executive officer of Balbix, said, “Our customers’ environments can include over 1 million assets spread across multiple clouds and their own facilities. Managing an attack surface this large is no longer a human-scale problem. With Balbix’s new support for GCP, our customers can use automation to manage cybersecurity posture across more of their environment.”
