Beyond Identity Inc., a passwordless multifactor authentication startup, just announced new integration offerings with cloud cybersecurity company Zscaler Inc. that will strengthen zero-trust architecture and cut down attack surfaces.
Through the integration, businesses can tap into real-time risk signals while also receiving continuous identity and device inspection and verification. Prior to initial user authentication, the risk signals are incorporated and continuously tracked, enhancing the overall security of the complete user session.
Beyond Identity and Zscaler’s ongoing risk signal exchange enables near-real-time notification and enforcement if a device fails to comply during an active session. Additional support includes session termination and remediation to ensure that both the user and the device are prepared for re-authentication.
Kurt Johnson, Beyond Identity’s Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Corporate Development, said, “Beyond Identity is committed to delivering the industry’s most secure and robust phishing-resistant authentication solution while removing the user friction that has stalled enterprise rollout of existing MFA solutions. To achieve this objective, Beyond Identity is building an ecosystem of like-minded leaders, like Zscaler, where real-time information exchange can raise the level of application and system security and form the foundation of an enterprise’s journey to zero-trust security.”
According to Amit Raikar, the Vice President of Tech Alliances and Business Development at Zscaler, the integration will provide customers with “another strong option to enforce device-driven conditional access continuously, and adapt to their risk policies and application sensitivity.”
Customers of Beyond Identity and Zscaler can use the integration to modernize their multifactor authentication strategies, reduce the risk of password-based and MFA-bypass breaches and expand the reach of existing cybersecurity investments. With the omission of the need for a password, there is an improvement in user satisfaction and usability while removing entire authentication attack vectors.
Beyond Identity is a venture-backed company that has achieved the unicorn status in February when it raised USD 100 million on a USD 1.1 billion valuation to expand R and amp;D.
This is not Zscaler’s first integration. In September, the company announced DevSecOps integration with HashiCorp. Zscaler also provides partners with a dynamic edge experience through the Amazon Web Services Inc. Marketplace.
