Shiprocket, an e-commerce enablement and shipping platform delivering solutions for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), looks forward to investing more than a million dollars in 2021 to strengthen its tech platform and partner network for fulfillment.
In the wake of Coronavirus, e-commerce in India has taken pace. With this boom in the ecommerce sector, consumer expectations around instant satisfaction have increased for every online shopping category.
To bridge this gap in the market, Shiprocket recently has introduced its own fulfillment network across four major cities in the country, Delhi NCR (Delhi and amp; Gurgaon), Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Also, it plans to introduce 15 more locations in the coming year.
The extremely young start-up has designed its fulfillment centers to deal with about 30,000 orders each day with an inventory storage capability of 90,000 units. Additionally, even on short notice, orders can be scaled up to 90,000 each day at a storage capacity of 2.5 million units.
Saahil Goel, Co-founder and CEO, Shiprocket, said, “Usually, enterprise businesses can afford formal warehousing and fulfilment, as opposed to SMBs, because it isn’t cost-effective for their business and requires upfront investments. Our unique pricing model is easily accessible for businesses of any size, who wish to take a step forward towards effectively managing their fulfilment operations. There is no minimum lock-in period and the sellers can work on a month-on-month basis with us. This is another step towards making Amazon-like shipping available to millions of D2C (direct to consumers) shippers in the country.”
