Avaya Spaces is a package of video collaboration app developed to serve the digital workplace that is dynamic in nature. The cloud-based collaboration and meeting app is used by governments, businesses, and schools in close to 100 countries to unite distributed groups of people instantly with immersive workspaces where users can message, manage tasks, and collaborate in the cloud.
On October 6, 2020, NVIDIA separately gave out information about the NVIDIA Maxine cloud-native streaming video AI platform that consists of an ensemble of cloud-based audio, video, and conversational AI software, which enriches and adds value to the video conferencing user experience.

Blending NVIDIA Maxine with Avaya Spaces unlocks an entirely new level of market-defining, AI-driven meeting capabilities. The combination further grows as customers can now benefit from features such as background noise removal, rich presenter features facilitating presenters to cover presentation content, virtual green screen backgrounds along with live transcriptions that can identify and distinguish voices.
NVIDIA GPU computing and the NGC software catalog in Google Cloud support Avaya to deliver these AI rich features cost-effectively, expanding to cater to the rapid growth in video meeting and collaboration that has paced up with rapid growth in remote work. Crucially, this considerably reduces end-user device requirements and makes these features available on a large scale without any prerequisite of using specialized hardware. It does not even demand a camera update.

Furthermore, Zeus Kerravala, Founder and Principal Analyst with ZK Research, expressed how the COVID-19 pandemic has altered video from an occasional use tool to something that is extensively used by almost everyone, all day long, and the trend is likely to continue.
Zeus Kerravala also stated, “A recent ZK Research Work From Anywhere Study revealed that post-pandemic, the number of remote workers will jump from 22 percent to 40 percent and almost all ‘meetings’ will include video. While Avaya Spaces is a collaboration app that is much more than video, the AI powered capabilities built into NVIDIA Maxine create better meetings, and by teaming up with NVIDIA, Avaya can provide state of the art AI capabilities to deliver an enhanced experience to its massive install base.”
