Automaker Renault’s new announcement talks about the use of Google Cloud’s Analytics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The company, Renault, will implement Google Cloud to improve supply chain, manufacturing, sustainability, and production as it aims to develop data infrastructure and participate in Industry 4.0. Also, Google’s cloud solutions and experience will improve production quality and reduce environmental impact through energy savings.
Renault plans to cut down costs by EUR 2 million in three years. In 2019, Renault witnessed a reduction in the sales volume by 3.4%. Adding to the low stream, COVID-19 has hurt Renault as a company to a great extent.
The objective of the program is to enhance data-driven culture, which will also improve the daily professional lives, operational management as well as decision-making processes.
According to the Director of Manufacturing and Logistics, Member of the Executive Committee of the Renault Group, José Vicente de los Mozos, “This collaboration is a perfect illustration of the Renault Group’s digital strategy, applied here to the industrial sector. This association is also an asset for Group employees who will benefit from high-level training in digital data management.”
The collaboration of Renault and Google Cloud will enhance Renault process engineering, manufacturing, IT teams’ skills, with the help of coworking, training, and enablement sessions with the Google team.
