The use of digital or virtual assistants and chatbots has gained pace with the increased use of Artificial Intelligence and natural language processing capability of various tools. The automated assistant has been around for years, but they haven’t been all that useful as they require a significant amount of programming to look for certain keywords, and the response was based on logical guesses. The inclusion of AI, however, has made these decision systems much smarter and now natural language queries can be made and responses in plain English. Despite the several advancements with digital assistant technology, they have yet to impact the way IT departments manage the network.
Juniper set to change the AI collaboration for the complete infrastructure; the company announced several updates with it’s recently acquired Mist business unit. The announcement includes new Wi-Fi 6 access points (APs) with integrated AI intelligence unit. Mist’s over the years has been investing in the networking technology with AI has the main source of a differentiator. Juniper also announced a product called as Mist edge that allows some of the Mist Services to be run on-premises in a hybrid configuration that works on similar lines as Google Anthos or how Amazon Web Services (AWS) outposts would operate.
The most imperative part of Mist’s new capabilities is the update with its new digital network assistant Marvis that is all set to make the effective troubleshooting and support tool. Marvis works as a complete IT professional, where it can determine what is wrong with a given system or application. Marvis will be assisted with the AI engine to determine the problem. Using AI for network troubleshooting can be adding several benefits with saving the time of network engineers who can concentrate on several critical issues rather than waste time on mundane, repetitive issues of network. Using the Marvis will shorten the time to address the main source of time consumption.
