- Microsoft and AT and amp;T are allowing enterprises to connect machines and devices to their secure cloud environments via an AT and amp;T-powered guardian device with Azure Sphere.
Microsoft and AT and amp;T are collaborating to support businesses to seamlessly connect machines and equipment to their cloud with enhanced secure network connectivity worldwide. Using Azure Sphere, AT and amp;T and Microsoft are delivering an integrated internet-of-things (IoT) solutions to enterprises.
AT and amp;T-powered guardian device with Azure Sphere will assist enterprises across the globe to transform their operations swiftly through massive IoT deployments at scale.
The alliance
The AT and amp;T driven guardian device is the recent example of how two companies are collaborating through a strategic alliance to advance the work culture of today and tomorrow.
This novel solution combines the secured architecture of Azure Sphere. It is a complete IoT security solution comprising cloud, hardware, and OS services with Azure IoT services and multi-layered security of AT and amp;T’s core network. The AT and amp;T Global SIM allows connectivity in over 200 nations across 500 carriers. The company provides services to assist daily tasks. These guardian devices are easy to install.
The solution offers quick and extremely protected activation right out of the box. It allows businesses to easily get connected with current devices to the cloud and Azure IoT Central. Thus, with Azure Sphere device security, the AT and amp;T cellular network will allow enterprises to deploy IoT applications depending on the shared security advantages.
Think of manufacturing plants, fast food restaurants, hospitals, coffee shops, elevators, and the ability to retrofit present equipment into “smart” devices that are digitally driven via highly secure cellular networks. Consumers may link their machines and equipment to their cloud environment without connecting to a Wi-Fi via a third-party pilot network connection that may not meet their high-security standards.
Corey Sanders, Corporate Vice President for Microsoft Solutions, commented, “Our work with AT and amp;T is a prime example of how the convergence of secure cloud computing and network technology helps businesses unlock new customer value and continuously simplify every aspect of our personal and professional lives.”
Mo Katibeh, Chief Product and amp; Platform Officer at AT and amp;T Business, commented, “AT and amp;T and Microsoft share the belief that technology should serve people.” Further, he added, “Working with Microsoft we can offer a truly global solution with strong security and data insights that can help a broad array of industries simplify operations, manage costs, and become more agile in any market.”
In 2019, Microsoft and AT and amp;T declared their strategic multi-layer alliance to deliver innovation with 5G, cloud, and artificial intelligence (AI). The primary aim behind the collaboration is to allow edge computing, new 5G, and cloud solutions to boost business capabilities for enterprises across the globe.
