  • NVIDIA and Oracle have been offering their services to customers for years with accelerated compute instances and software through OCI.

Oracle and NVIDIA announced multi-year cooperation to assist customers in resolving business issues through accelerated computing and AI, further solidifying their long-standing partnership. The partnership seeks to bring the entire NVIDIA accelerated computing stack, including GPUs, systems, and software (OCI), to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

OCI is expanding its capacity by tens of thousands of more NVIDIA GPUs, including the A100 and future H100. Along with OCI’s AI cloud architecture of bare metal, cluster networking, and storage, this offers businesses a wide range of simple-to-access alternatives for AI training and deep learning inference and scale.

Safra Catz, CEO of Oracle, said, “To drive long-term success in today’s business environment, organizations need answers and insight faster than ever. Our expanded alliance with NVIDIA will deliver the best of both companies expertise to help customers across industries – from healthcare and manufacturing to telecommunications and financial services – overcome the multitude of challenges they face.”

Jensen Huang, CEO of and founder of NVIDIA said, “Accelerated computing and AI are key to tackling rising costs in every aspect of operating businesses. Enterprises are increasingly turning to cloud-first AI strategies that enable fast development and scalable deployment. Our partnership with Oracle will put NVIDIA AI within easy reach for thousands of companies.”

NVIDIA AI Coming to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

NVIDIA and Oracle have been offering their services to customers for years with accelerated compute instances and software through OCI. By making the NVIDIA AI platform accessible on OCI instances, the extended partnership aims to accelerate AI-powered innovation for various sectors to serve customers better and assist sales.

NVIDIA AI Enterprise, the widely accepted software of the NVIDIA AI platform, contains critical processing engines for each phase of the AI workflow, including data processing, AI model training, simulation, and large-scale deployment. NVIDIA AI enables businesses to construct predictive models to automate business processes and acquire quick business insights through applications such as conversational AI, recommender systems, computer vision, and more. Both firms aim to make a future version of NVIDIA AI Enterprise that will be accessible to OCI Customers, offering customers easy access to NVIDIA’s rapid, secure, and scalable platform for end-to-end AI development and deployment.

Furthermore, Oracle is also offering early access to NVIDIA RAPIDSTM acceleration for Apache Spark data processing on the OCI Data Flow fully-managed Apache Spark service. Data processing is one of the most common uses of cloud computing. To lend support to this demand, OCI Data Science aims to offer support for OCI bare metal forms, including BM.GPU.GM4.8 with NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core GPUs, spanning managed notebook sessions, tasks, and model deployment.

Also forthcoming is NVIDIA Clara, an AI and HPC application platform for medical imaging, genomics, natural language processing, and drug development. Oracle and NVIDIA are also cooperating on new AI-accelerated Oracle Cerner technologies for the healthcare industry, including analytics, clinical solutions, operations, and patient management systems.
