Platform.sh, a comprehensive, secure, enterprise-grade platform for building, running, and scaling web apps, recently raised USD 140 million in a Series D funding round. Munich-based Digital Partners, San Francisco-based Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital, and Paris-based Revaia led the round and existing investors BGV, Eurazeo, Hiinov, and Partech re-invested in this round.

Platform.sh will use the funds to expand its leadership position in Europe, the United States, and Asia by hiring additional personnel around the world to accomplish its expansion goals. The firm aims to utilize part of the proceeds to support future acquisitions to speed its organic product rollout, thus building on the successful acquisition of Blackfire in May 2021 that enabled the firm to improve its portfolio in application performance management.

The end-to-end web platform has achieved global success in alleviating the problems of developing websites and web applications. When it comes to designing, delivering, and managing web apps, digital teams have many options – from selecting which system to use in the backend to deciding which framework and language to code in.

Platform.sh is an end-to-end platform that allows businesses to build, host, and scale a fleet of websites and web applications while eliminating the need for IT and cloud operations. It allows distributed development teams, including external agencies, to build websites and web apps in various languages using various frameworks, thus facilitating seamless collaboration.

Platform.sh’s platform aims to ease developers’ work. The platform includes an auto-scaling tool that helps it simplify infrastructure management. With this, it automatically adjusts the amount of hardware provisioned for an application as requirements change.

The startup’s goal is to make the task of software maintenance simpler. Before releasing a software update, developers can scan it for code issues like security vulnerabilities. Certain parts of the task can be automated. And once an update is deployed in production, it makes the task easier for developers by ensuring that it runs on expected lines.

Powerful automation boosts productivity and saves a lot of money on cloud expenses. Platform.sh’s responsible cloud platform, and fleet management strategy has been embraced by large enterprises like Adobe and Nestlé, as well as smaller digital teams like Gault et Millau, Unicef, University of Missouri, and others throughout the world.
