Cohesity publicized its strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to address the increasing consumer needs for data management that is reliable, flexible, scalable, and available. Cohesity and AWS are introducing the latest Data Management as a Service (DMaaS) to the market.
The DMaaS solution is designed to offer mid-size consumers and enterprises a radically easy way to analyze, back up, govern, and secure their data. This is all managed by Cohesity and hosted on AWS.
As data continues to grow exponentially, several enterprises are looking for alternatives to manage data in ways that allow their IT teams:
- To concentrate on policy versus infrastructure.
- Offer a consumption-based rating.
- Speed up the shift to the cloud.
- Make it simple to get value from data.
- Remove data infrastructure silos.
- Support various use cases (analytics, data backup and archiving, copy data management, disaster recovery, and file and object services).

Cohesity and the AWS Partner Network (APN) is investing in resources to design the DMaaS solution on AWS and participate in the joint go-to-market activities. Also, Amazon has made an equity investment in Cohesity.

As per the report, “The Total Economic Impact of Cohesity,” published by Forrester Consulting, consumers realized about 66% reduction of back up and data management costs, and a three-year return on investment of 150%, saves thousands of hours on planned downtime work.
Graff from Dolby commented: “Most customers prefer choice in how their data is managed.” Further, he added, “With some vendors, you are forced to choose either-or, but with Cohesity, you have the flexibility to manage data your way.”
