In the age of on-demand, instant-on, cloud-scale applications, using file architectures developed for single, local, stove-piped applications simply cannot work. It’s time to modernize, globalize, and simplify our unstructured data architectures. Just as SaaS and cloud-native architectures have almost completely replaced legacy software applications, so will cloud-based global file systems replace legacy file architectures.
