Sentryo provides visibility and security solutions for industrial control network (ICS) networks. The two companies know each other well: Cisco and Sentryo have already had the
opportunity to work together. The Sentryo sensor and the industrial network equipment of the American are thus associated in the Cisco IOx application environment. Based precisely in Villeurbanne, Sentryo has offices and partners in Europe, North and South America, and Asia. The Lyon company was proclaimed French nugget and joined the laureates of the French Tech. Sentryo was even elected in 2017 Cyber Security Firm of the Year in Montreal! Its co-founder and general manager, Laurent Hausermann, is also a thematic reference IoT (Internet of Things) for Lyon French Tech.
Cisco wants to offer robust cyber security solutions to its customers and therefore relies on Sentryo, which offers a security platform: according to a study conducted by Zscaler, 91.5% of IoT data companies are not protected! This security platform named “ICS Cybervision” makes it possible to automatically view device behaviors from the network stream. It checks the integrity of configurations and detects abnormal events while promoting communication between teams. The tool is based on four pillars: analysis, mapping, control and defense. Large companies such as Siemens, Mitsubishi Electric or Schneider Electric already use ICS Cybervision.
Rob Salvagno, Vice President Corporate Development explains the announcement of this merger: “By releasing the power of the network, we can significantly improve operational efficiency and discover new business opportunities. With Sentryo’s expertise, Cisco can provide industrial control systems engineers with increased equipment visibility to optimize, detect anomalies, and secure their networks. ” Sentryo, which has raised more than 10 million euros since its inception, is expected to join Cisco before the end of the first quarter of fiscal year 2020, once given the go-ahead by the authorities.
