Red Hat announces the availability in May of Red Hat Virtualization 4.3, the new version of the virtualization platform based on Red Hat’s Kernel-based Virtual Machine Virtualization (KVM) technology.
Red Hat Virtualization 4.3, which builds on the foundation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, is designed to provide increased security, easier interoperability, and better integration into enterprise computing environments. Red Hat Virtualization is an open source software platform for virtualizing Linux and Microsoft Windows workloads. The solution provides a scalable platform with automation capabilities and services to simplify IT operations. Red Hat Virtualization 4.3 introduces new features and enhancements, including Expanded Software-defined networking (SDN).
Red Hat Virtualization 4.3 supports the latest versions of the Red Hat OpenStack platform. This approach gives customers more flexibility and choice in SDN solutions through an open technology stack. More powerful automation with Red Hat Ansible Automation provides automated end-to-end configuration, deployment, and validation. New features include the deployment of Red Hat Virtualization Manager via Ansible, as well as the creation and management of physical and logical resources such as hosts, clusters and data centers. IBM POWER9 support-IBM’s latest POWER architecture ensures high performance for Big Data and resource-intensive database workloads. Red Hat Virtualization supports the use of IBM POWER8 or POWER9 virtual machines in data centers. Modern Operating System Management – With Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 beta guest mode on Red Hat Virtualization, users will now be able to run production workloads on Linux operating systems. The operation takes place in a virtualized environment. In addition, support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 will be effective upon release. Availability Red Hat Virtualization 4.3 is available as a stand-alone platform and as an integrated offering within Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The solution is also available in Red Hat Cloud Suite and in Red Hat Virtualization Suite.
